“I STARTED HAVING SEVERE PAINS IN MY NECK AND DOWN MY RIGHT ARM”
As a result of various accidents I have arthritis in many parts of my body. The accident that gave me the most problems for many years was from when I injured my back at age 15 doing a dive. This became worse during pregnancies to the point that I was advised not to pick up or carry my children. When I had a bad fall on the tennis court about 15 years later, the old problem, which I had more or less been able to live with, again became bad, compounded by further injury to my lower back and coccyx. I had physiotherapy over an extended period, but had to be even more careful and sometimes was even put to bed and sedated and given medication for pain. This usually occurred after overdoing or doing things I should not have done.
While on an overseas trip, I started having severe pains in my neck and down my right arm and sometimes even to the ankle, and sometimes something I was picking up would just fall out of my hand. These symptoms didn’t improve, so on my return I decided to go to the doctor. I had x-rays taken and was sent to a neurologist who, after looking at the x-rays, said I should have an MRI scan, but that I could not have surgery as it could cause complete paralysis. When I asked him what I could do about the pain, he advised pain pills and learn to live with it.
This neck injury was described as a very old one and in all probability, it was caused by a fall out of a car at the age of 4. I don’t remember it of course, but as it was frequently mentioned by family members, I knew that I had been unconscious for about 3 days.
The condition did get worse and I even had problems getting out of bed at times. I was in constant pain and always felt the need to hold my neck and I take pain pills. The back ache was still there but seemed insignificant compared to what I was experiencing.
At the end of 1990, I heard from a friend about Directed Pressure Point Technique and started treatment in January 1991. I had 3 sessions and if anything, I got worse. I was warned that this would be the case, so when it was suggested that I have weekly treatments until further notice I agreed as I was desperate. I can’t remember how many sessions I had, but I think it was 7, when my practitioner told me to come back after 3 weeks. I walked to the car where my husband was waiting for me, clutching my neck and crying and said that I thought we were wasting our time and money and that there was no point in going back. I did not make another appointment.
Three days later, on the Sunday, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom and when I came back my husband was lying in bed watching me and he said. “Morning honey, how are you feeling” and I said “I’m fine” and as I said it I realised that I was fine. I had no pain in my neck. I had got out of bed easily not even realising what I was doing. I had no pain in my arm. I thought to myself, this can’t be true, it will start again in a while. Well it didn’t. I went back to my practitioner after 3 weeks and 3 weeks later again and then less and less and then only when I needed it, like when I was in a car accident or had been carrying too many heavy rocks in my garden or tripped and fell flat on my stomach and jarred all my bones or I go just for ‘maintenance’. I have never needed pain bombs again, although the arthritis does give me pain and stiffening of joints, but I use natural products to control that and I am healthy and active.
I have told numerous people about Directed Pressure Point Technique and many of these have had similar excellent results. If I had not heard of Directed Pressure Point Technique, I could have been dead by now, or maybe paralysed.
