“I COULD NOT SLEEP PROPERLY, WORK OR EVEN TALK”
At the end of April 2008, I had a neck injury whilst playing with my daughter. I experienced intense sharp pain which continued for some time. I visited a Chiropractor but got no pain relief. I also visited a Chinese doctor which did give me some pain relief but the pain returned minutes later. I experienced intense pain in my left shoulder and arm. I could barely move it. I could not sleep properly, work or even talk.
I visited a doctor at the hospital who explained that my condition was a slipped disc (hernia) and sent me for a scan. The results showed C6 & C7 left posterior lateral disc herniation with impingements of the left C7 nerve complex at the entrance to the intervertebral foramen. I was advised to have surgery.
I was confused and the pain was not getting any better, but I was not sure whether to have the surgery. I visited the Sports Science Institute where thorough checks were carried out and it was established that there was no muscle loss. I was advised to try to hold out for a little longer and to forego the surgery.
I started Directed Pressure Point Technique twice a week for the first month, and after 1 month, I began to feel relief. One month later, I knew I was going to recover. I continue with my Directed Pressure Point Technique treatments twice a month and feel 100%. I am able to swim, work and surf again. I feel great!
