COMMUNICATION IN THE BODY
In order to thrive in our increasingly stressful and demanding world, we often push our bodies to the limit and ignore warning signs. This can lead to the ‘shutting down’ of vital communication in certain areas of the body – a bit like an overloaded electrical circuit that has tripped. When communication between the brain and body shuts down, the body does not function optimally. This can lead to muscle hardening, as an example.
When muscles lose their elasticity, there is a compressive force on the sensory nerve receptors in that area of the body. This compressive force creates either numbness or pain, which leads to a further shutting down of communication. This process often spreads to other areas of the body as it tries to regain its natural state of balance.
It is vital to address the body as an integrated whole and not just focus on the isolated area where pain is felt. Working this way sends a message to the brain to ‘reset’ the whole body.
The Biopractic technique starts by restoring communication that has shut down. With this reconnection, elasticity returns to the muscle, which decompresses nerves in that area, opening pathways to the brain.
